Cashville

It seems that Tara left out my fun weekend with the boys in Nashville, or as B-money calls it Cashville. That's right, Ms. Verdigets was not the only one who jetted off for the weekend. This is my first official blog, so bare with me...

The trip starts with my grand entrance at Jefferies & Co. where Mr. Joiner works. The place is more like a frathouse than an office and was quite entertaining. Later that evening, baby Davis, Paul and I went out for a night on the town. Claire hates Thai food, so we immediately went to eat there. Baby Davis loved the massaman curry and the oriental music.

The next day was B$ day. The four guys watched a little golf, rented a college chick to watch baby Davis and met up with Ms. $ for dinner at Lime, a new hip latin-fusion kind of a place. Apparently it had been a while since Paul hit the town without the little guy or the wife. We barely sat down before shots of te-kill-ya started going around.

Following Lime, we went to the Greenhouse Bar. They literally built a bar in a greenhouse and put plasma TV's everywhere. Very cool.

The boys at Greenhouse-notice the plants in the background

Next up was the Sloan residence for some strawberry thing that Mother $ makes. Have no idea what it was, but it was AUsome. It was nearing midnight, the babysitter had left at 10pm and Paul and I thought it best to get back to baby Davis.

Three points of interest in the above pic: 1) Strawberry thing; 2) Claire, by phone, giving Paul the "debrief" and instructing us to get home; 3) Nash, the dog, who prefers to hang out in the doorway-too worried he'll miss something, but too scared to come inside.

Alas, Sunday came and it was time to head back to Atlanta. After watching baby Davis while Paul cleaned the house (insert ulterior motive here) we grubbed at Zoe's and said our goodbye's. I meticulously calculated when I should leave Nashvegas to arrive at the airport in Atlanta to pick Tara up. I was rewarded by her plane being 3 hours late. Spirit Air sucks.

A Little Surprise at Spa Weekend!!

Well, I wanted to post the news yesterday with my original post, but I had to wait for permission:) Anyway, our very own Anna Kate Crowe is preggers!! She shocked the poop out of us Thursday night when we arrived in Miami. The mom-to-be was a complete rock star all weekend (of course having only virgin drinks), and kept up with the rest of us like a champ. We are all SO excited for her, and we will continue to pray for Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Crowe. The bambino is expected to arrive at the end of September, and I'm sure that Baby Crowe will come in with a bang! I am so excited to be an aunt all over again. Just ask Harrison and Harper; Aunt TT sure does buy nice surprises! Anyway, congrats to Anna Kate and we love you! Just a thought...now I don't have to hear her say "But, I don't have anything to blog about!" Ha!

P.S.-Don't they make a onesie that says "My Mom's a Rock Star"?!?!?!? HA!

Bienvenidos a Miami!!!!!!

I had a FABULOUS Valentine's Day and weekend. My husband was nice enough to buy me an airline ticket to the hot and sunny Miami, Florida. Actually, this trip had been planned for a year, but it was still nice of him to let me leave him on Heart Day. Every year, a couple of my girlfriends get together for Spa Weekend. Last year, I got to host here in Atlanta at the beautiful Chateu Elan. This year, my good friend, Stacey Schwartz, was the hostess. Man, let me tell you... she outdid herself. Anna Kate, Claire, and I arrived in Miami on Thursday. We show up at Stacey's pimp south Florida home, and she has placed gift bags on our beds!! In addition she has prepared dips, cheese balls, cupcakes, and the works! We are so appreciative of how much effort she put into our visit.

Before our treatments..

After our treatments...

So, the weekend started off Friday morning as we made our way to the famous Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. We treated ourselves to facials, mani's , pedi's, and makeovers. Let's just say that I am not a big fan of having my make-up done, and this experience didn't help at all. I looked like I had just stepped out of an 80's band concert. But, the rest of the experience was to die for. I highly recommend this spa if you are ever in South Florida!! Friday night was another home run. We drove to the hot and sexy South Beach and had a feast at The Forge. Let me tell you, this place is hopping. I would bet you money there were some celebrities hidden in a couple of corners. However, it didn't seem to matter much because I thought we looked quite fine ourselves. We were working on getting the bill paid for , but we weren't successful. Sorry Stace that we missed out touring the wine cellar! I was anxious to get to the Citgo :)

If you dare wear short skirts..

Saturday morning we got up super early and drove to Palm Beach. Wowsers!! How do people afford all that plastic surgery?? People were walking around everywhere with permanent smiles; I don't think this one lady could have frowned if she wanted to. However, the weather was beautiful. Us "Northern" girls sure did appreciate all the Vitamin D we were getting. My skin is still in shock from the sunlight. Please let it be springtime soon! Stacey's sweet parents met us there and took us to a fabulous lunch at Taboo. It was great to see them, and I think that Mr. Chester is still recovering. Poor guy couldn't get a word in!! We really appreciated their lunch treat :) After shopping and eating in Palm Beach, Stacey drove us all over South Florida to the malls. Those dang Tory Burch shoes we wanted... we couldn't find those suckers anywhere!! I have to admit that I am a bit let down at the amount of shopping transactions that were made. I will include a photo of last years purchases compared to this year, so you can see how much more frugal we have become. Notice in the front of this years bags that Anna Kate made a special purchase at the Walgreens :)

At this point in the weekend I started to get depressed. I hate the end of a good weekend. It was sadly Saturday night, and Aaron (Stacey's husband) escorted all of the girls to a delicious Italian dinner. Stacey's friend, Jenny, came along and she is a beauty! It was so nice to meet her :) We ended the night with a good old dance party at Stacey's house. Claire was acting as if she was Rhianna and was begging us to "please don't stop the music."

Aaron with the girls!

Look! AK and Claire found a fire hydrant from Albertville (the fire hydrant capital of the world!)

Thanks to Stacey for a wonderful weekend. It was such a good time, and I am looking forward to planning Spa Weekend 2009. I'm ready to get the planner out when y'all are!

Mountain Weekend

Felix, Tara, Juan, Bethany, Sewell, Godsey, Shawn, Kelly, Megan and Dean

The Men (or boys???)

We had the pleasure of being invited to celebrate Shawn McGrath's 40th birthday weekend with him and a bunch of our friends in the North Georgia Mountains. I have to admit that this was my first mountain experience with Felix (really, my first mountain experience ever), so I was a little nervous about being THAT far away from any civilization (Saks, Neiman's, etc..HA! JK). Everyone got there Friday night, and Bethany and Juan prepared a fabulous spaghetti and meatball dinner. The girls tried to hang with the guys, but we ended up crashing a bit early. Kelly bought Shawn a Wii for his birthday gift (YES, 40 year old men still like video games), so the guys were determined to master the thing by the first night. Saturday was a nice and relaxing day. Felix cooked a great breakfast for everyone that really just seemed to create a pattern for the rest of the day....rest, eat, lay around, eat, take a nap, eat-you get the picture. We did seem to work up the energy for the much addicted Uno card game. After a great breakfast, some great sandwiches prepared by Dean and Megan, and Kelly and Shawn's special hamburgers, I'll be doing double time on the treadmill this week! We had such a great time, and we hope that we will get invited to attend next year's Mountain Weekend Vacation. Don't worry Juan, maybe El Gato will stay home next year :)
