Easter

Our Easter was a little all over the place this year. We had plans to leave for a BIG vacation on Easter morning, so we had to just squeeze in what we could. On Good Friday, Carter's class had an egg hunt. These little rascals were so cute. They made their own little bags and loved hunting eggs. Carter wasn't 100% that day (due to Fifths Disease), but she managed to push through and enjoy her party.

On Saturday morning Felix took the girls to the grocery store and while they were gone the Easter Bunny came! The Easter Bunny knew that the girls needed some special gear for their vacation, so the baskets were full of Disney goodies!

We even had just enough time to dye a few eggs and hide them before our trip. This was definitely a low-key shin-dig.

Easter morning, we loaded up bright and early to head to Orlando. We spent Easter Sunday at the Gaylord Palms and had a fun-filled afternoon of swimming and water slides. This was the beginning of Spring Break, and it was just what the doctor ordered for our family!  We spent the next 4 days at the most Magical Place on Earth! Stay tuned for Day 1!!!

Carter's 3rd Birthday

Carter-girl turned THREE in March, and she was so excited about her birthday.  I love this kid because she doesn't expect a thing. I love the other kid too, obviously. But, this kid is so easy going and is just happy with bare minimum. Will I always give her bare minimum? No.  But, this year with a Disney trip approaching, we skipped the big party and kept things simple. On her actual, birthday we went to Taco's and Tequila for dinner. Carter loves quesadillas and sour cream along with black beans. So, we dug into some Mexican food and then we came home and had Gigi's cupcakes. She loved opening her presents, and Blair loved helping her open her presents ;)

Carter told us for six months that she wanted an Aubie birthday party. That is a little hard to make happen in Atlanta. Luckily, Auburn gymnastics was performing at home the weekend of Carter's birthday, so we planned a little getaway to celebrate. On Friday night, we had a nice dinner at Hamilton's (yes, again) and then went to the gymnastics meet. High on our list was to visit with Aubie. He must have known it was our girl's birthday because he came right for us when we got there. Since we were staying at a hotel, we stayed the entire time, and the girls got to visit with the gymnasts after the meet. Blair got all of their autographs on the poster she had made of them. It was SO cute!

The next morning, we met most of our family at Acre for brunch. If you have never eaten here, it is DELICIOUS! I had reserved a private room, and also had a local lady make Carter an Aubie cake for her birthday. It was the perfect meal, and everyone had a great time. Carter was so pleased with her Aubie birthday. On the car ride home she said "I loved my party, Mommy".  I thought my heart would explode!

Carter-girl you are one of a kind. You are a hilarious child, and you make some of the funniest facial expressions. People say that you definitely get your personality honest ;) At your check-up you weighed 32.5 lbs (69th%) and you were 37.5 inches tall (62nd%). You are healthy as a horse, and your mommy and daddy are SO thankful for that. You love to sleep from 7-7 every day, but you are over your naps. Some days you will go in your room and play for an hour or two, but you do not sleep any more. If you sleep during the day,  it is definitely because you are sick. You have been potty-trained since last July, and you have been flawless with that. You have definitely been the leader in your classroom at school with the potty. You are a pretty good eater. Your favorite meals are greek yogurt and granola for breakfast and red beans and rice for dinner. You love fruit, but you are struggling with the vegetables right now. You love going to school and love Miss "Ria" and Miss Mary. You have a boyfriend in your class and his name is Finn. He calls you "Little Missy". Finn also lives with us, eats with us, goes on vacation with us, and rides in the car with us. Sometimes we sit on him and you get very mad ;) You love going to ballet and gymnastics. You are also in swim lessons right now, and you are doing an EXCELLENT job. We keep you in these activities because you don't really care to play outside like your sister. You refuse to ride a tricycle, bike, or any type of toy. You would rather walk around and pick flowers than do anything else. Your best friend is Elle, and you play with her often. You love to play hide and seek and dress-up with her. Your favorite show is Peppa Pig and Max and Ruby. You also love Big Hero 6 and the Lion King. You definitely LOVE being the baby at our house. You are my little shadow, and you follow me around most of the time. You are so loving and give the biggest wet kisses on our cheeks. You think the world of Blair, and you won't to be JUST LIKE HER. We are SO proud of you, and I think we will just have you stay three years old forever!

Winter Happenings

It was a long and cold winter here in the A-T-L. It seemed that we had A LOT of snow days and NO snow. Pretty typical for the South.  We seem to take things pretty easy around here in February since it is our first chance to recover from the holidays and birthdays.  March gets busy again with another birthday and spring break, so February is our month of rest.  Carter had dance observation at ballet. She got to show off her skills for the camera. She has Mrs. Kristi, which is the same teacher Blair had for 3 years. There is no other Mrs. Kristi out there.

Blair had a Valentine's program at her school during February. It was called "Beats" and they sang popular Valentine's Day songs. She loved getting all dressed up and performing on the stage. I thought their music teacher did a great job with them, and the performance was so cute!

For Valentine's Day we took the girls to Auburn for the gymnastics meet. We had a delicious dinner at Hamilton's and then went to the Arena for the meet. We happened to run into Mommy's Valentine while we were there ;)

And what do you know, I did manage to have myself a little bit of fun in February. Anna Kate and Stacey came to Atlanta for a visit, and we managed to get in just enough shopping and dining. It was the perfect pick-me-up during depressing winter days! A day of shopping in Bulkhead and dinner at The Southern Gentleman was just what these mama's needed!

Just in time for spring is Carter-girl's 3rd birthday! Stay tuned!!
