We saved a few cupcakes so we could have some that night when Daddy got home. Daddy fixed Blair's favorite dinner; which is eggs, sausage, pancakes, and biscuits. We ate, sang Happy Birthday and opened presents. I want to ALWAYS remember how sweet Blair was on the night of her birthday to Carter. She wanted Carter to have a candle on her cupcake and she also wanted Carter to help her open her gifts. I was really dreading the snatching of the wrapping paper, and the yanking of the gifts, but I was SO wrong. The girls definitely have their moments , but I don't think I will forever forget how sweet Blair was to Carter-girl on this night.
The very next day, Blair had birthday chapel at school. She got to stand in front of the whole school and tell everyone how old she is. She was definitely being a little shy and would hardly look at me! Ha!
Finally, it was party day! Over Thanksgiving, Blair got to watch Alice in Wonderland and that really inspired her to have an "Alice" themed party. Since Blair loves princesses AND art, it worked out great for us to have it at The Little House of Art. She invited ALL of her closest girlfriends, and even had Alice herself make an appearance ;)
Blair, I don't even know where to start with telling you how awesome you are. You have brought so much joy to our lives these past five years. You have one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. I could just sit all day and watch you play with your sister. She is obsessed with every move you make, and I want you to remember that for the rest of your life ;) You help Mommy so much with Carter, and I don't know how I would make it these long weeks without you. You are so full of life, and loved by all your friends. All the moms at your school joke about you being the "class president". Everyone loves Blair and always wants to sit by, play with, or hang out with Blair. You are such a smart little girl, and you always get bragged on by your teachers. You are definitely a "pleaser" when it comes to your schoolwork and the things you do at home. You are also a cryer, but we are working on that. You cry about everything under the sun. Hangnails, the color of your pony tail holder, baggy pants, brown spots on your strawberries, and even the wrong food on your plate is enough to send you over the top. But at the same time you are so tough. You recently had 4 cavities filled, and had several vials of blood drawn at the doctors office and didn't shed one tear. You just keep throwing me curve balls ;) You are definitely still terrified of animals, and that is something I can always be sure of. You weigh 39.5 lbs (50th percentile) and you are 41.75 inches tall (36th percentile). Dr. Pip thinks you will be 5'3". Congratulations if that's the case, because you will be taller than Mommy! You are a great eater and have always loved food. You also love dessert and you get that honest. You are also a very active child. You love going to school 5 days a week, and you take ballet, gymnastics, and soccer on top of that. You have not ever met an activity that you don't love, so Daddy may have to get a 2nd job ;) Blair, Mommy and Daddy love you so much and although we want you to stay little forever, we are very excited about watching you grow up to a beautiful young lady! Happy 5th Birthday Blair-bear!
