Felix and I had the pleasure of hosting a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party for Aunt June and Uncle Mack. If you know these people at all, then you know that they don't act or look old enough to have been married FIFTY years! It was such an honor to be a part of this wonderful party. My cousin is very talented at throwing a shindig, and she definitely outdid herself with this one.
It was so fun to get see a lot of family and friends from back home that we don't see that often. Of course, the girls had to be right up in the middle of it all ;)
One memory we will always treasure from this special night was Carter-girl's love for the dance floor. She literally broke out her dance moves the minute the band started playing. She was definitely the hit of the party (just like her mama)!! HA!
This was such a special night with so many wonderful memories! Congratulations to the happy couple, and we wish you many more years of happiness!

Orange Beach
We said goodbye to summer again this year with our annual trip to Orange Beach. We went with "our two dads" and had a great time. Orange Beach has really blossomed over the past year, so we got to try many new places to eat. We kicked the trip off with a family dinner at Fisher's. It was to die for! Actually, it was so good that we went twice. The atmosphere was great, and we enjoyed the outdoor area after the meal for some photos!
Luckily for us, Blair thinks Build A Bear only exists at Orange Beach ;) She had been saving up points from her reward chart to cash in when we got there. I thought we were going in for My Little Pony, but we left with a rockstar bear. And yes, she plays the song "Call Me Maybe".
Another wonderful place that we dined was The Gulf. We also went here twice. Unfortunately, I took my camera during the grungy visit ;) This is such a neat little place. It is right on the beach, so the girls loved running around after our meal was over.
Blair had been begging all week to roast s'mores, so on the last night her wish was granted. We fired up on the grill on the back patio and had a little redneck-style marshmallow roast ;) It was the best dessert we had all week in my opinion ;)
We had such a nice, relaxing trip to Orange Beach. It was definitely just what we needed to prepare us for the the hustle and bustle of "back to school". Sadly, there will be no more August beach trips since we will have a Kindergartner next year! We will just have to plan something extra special for next summer!
