Carter's Baptism

A few weeks ago, we had Carter's Baptism at our church. We had originally planned for August, and boy was I glad the church couldn't do it that day! It ended up being on September 9th, and we had the most beautiful fall weather that day. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the humidity was gone! It was the perfect day to run around in a dress and heels all morning ;)

It is very special to us that both of our girls were baptized at the same church by the same pastor. We love where we attend church, and we would not have it any other way. Vic is so personable during his baptisms and puts great emphasis on each baby and what their name means.

Afterwards, we celebrated with friends and family at Horseradish Grill. We had a wonderful brunch followed by a very delicious cake. It was the perfect day, and we are so thankful for this little blessing in our lives!

Back at it!

We have been so busy getting back into the swing of things around here. All of this learning the new carpool, getting out of the door on time, and adjusting Carter's schedule has worn me out! We are still busy, so this post won't have many words!

First up, we had "visit the classroom" day at school. I took Blair's picture in front of this very same wall last year. I can't even post both pictures for a comparison because it brings me to tears. She still looked baby-ish last year. Not anymore :-(

The very next day was the first day of school.  Blair was a little hesitant this year because she knew I would no longer be walking her into the building. Basically, we pull up and she hops out! She is a champ at it now, and it sure does make my life easier with an infant in the car!  Blair has adjusted great to her new teacher and new friends. She has 14 kids in her class, and only 2 of them are repeats from last year.

Next in line was Blair's first soccer game. Lord, I thought I would melt when she put on that uniform. There is something so precious about those tiny cleats and shin guards! I think I drove to another country to find all of the gear in her size because she has VERY small feet (just like her mama!).  Felix and I are a bit taken back by how good Blair is. She really hustles on the field and gives it her best. Carter isn't that bad of a cheerleader either ;)

You would think we would be done by now. Nope! Next up, gymnastics!! Blair stays after school one day a week with a few of her buddies and attends a gymnastics class.  I will say that we have the snazziest leotard in the class, thanks to her Aunt AK! Go big, or go home, right???

And last, but not least, we are back in the ballet mix! Blair has an hour long class this year, and she is in the same class with her friends from last year. She also has her same same teacher, which we love. This is one of my favorite days because Blair and I get to share some alone time on this day. We go to ballet, run errands, and grab some lunch before heading home. Soon enough, she will be in school 5 days a week, so I really want to cherish this time with her while I can!

So, that's it. Well, we do have Spanish, but I haven't really had any picture-taking opportunities with that just yet! LOL! So, that's what we have been up to. Stay tuned for Carter's Baptism and 6 month post! Adios!!

Orange Beach

We just enjoyed a fabulous week at Orange Beach with Pop, Mimi, Gina, and Paw Paw. We were so fortunate to get out of town ONE day before Hurricane Isaac arrived. It seems we have flirted with hurricane season way too much this summer! We love our trip to Orange Beach because Pop and Mimi provide the royal treatment. Between my very-specific grocery list and my 3 year old who requires 12 hours of full entertainment every single day, I'm sure they probably needed a 2nd week without us!

We always get to celebrate Gina's birthday every year with a nice dinner at Cobalt.

These two also enjoyed a couple of date nights without Mommy due to Carter's super early bedtime!

The condo that we stayed at has a pool, lazy river, and a slide so there was tons of entertainment for Blair each day. She decided to give the slide a try this year. She looks terrified on the way down, but soon realized that it wasn't that bad ;)

Blair has become such a big girl this past summer.  She has stopped sucking her thumb AND learned to swim! The swimming came gradually, so this was our first trip to the beach without any flotation devices. It creates a little more work as of now because I have to stay near her at all times, but at least I know that if she were to fall in a pool, she could get to the side and wait for help.

And little sister just chilled out as usual. She saw about 30 minutes of beach every day after her lunch. Her skin is SO sensitive that she just can't handle the heat very long. She did cut TWO teeth while we were there, so we kept her teething rings close by at all times (Thanks Aunt AK!). 

The weather was SO nice, and Blair played SO hard every single day. She loved the sand and loved making little friends out on the beach every day. She was so sad our last day because most of her friends had left, so she was stuck with the adults. I am looking forward to the day when Carter can get out there and play with her (although please don't grown up too fast baby Carter). 

And last but not least, we took our first trip to Build A Bear while we were vacationing. Blair is obsessed with Hello Kitty, so she knew which "friend" she wanted the minute we walked into the door!

Thanks to Pop and Mimi for a wonderful trip! There is no way you have rested up from the 7:00 am wake up knocks, flying kites on the beach, and the not-so-lazy river! Take another vacation, you deserve it! LOL!
