Disney Day 1

Yes, we went back. Yes, we have been three times in 15 months. Yes, I am obsessed. BUT, I can totally justify it. They are only little once. They are only little once. They are only little once. Oh, and it was Carter's birthday as well ;) Okay, I feel better now.

We did things a little differently this time. We normally drive in and get after the parks on the first day. This time we decided to drive in a day early and use some of Daddy's hotel points at the Waldorf Astora. WIN=WIN. We got to experience a very nice hotel that we may visit again some day, and we got to get up the next morning and be at the park at rope drop instead of 4:00 that afternoon. We spent our first day at Magic Kingdom. We always get there around 9 am, so we make all kinds of memories by noon each day.  First thing on the list was to see Rosetta. Rumor has it that the accompanying fairy may not be around much longer, so we definitely wanted to squeeze this in. Oh, and visit Think as well by the way...

I had to bribe Blair to get on very first Disney ride. I chose Dumbo for her. And she chose some sort of overpriced "prize" in the gift shop as her reward. She did fine and liked it okay, but she is just still not that into rides. She would rather exchange autographs with every character that Disney has to offer. And believe me, we did just that.

We were super excited to visit Fairytale Hall for the first time. We definitely used the new Fastpass + system for this. It works like a charm. Don't you just love Carter in the Rapunzel picture? She is totally trying to strike the princess pose.

We also stopped by to visit some of Carter's favorites. She loves Pooh and Tigger.

We stayed at Bay Lake Tower for this trip and we loved it. It was so nice to be able to walk to the Magic Kingdom in 6 minutes. Later that afternoon our room was ready, so we went to get settled and have a little rest. We wanted to be rested up for our dinner reservation at Be Our Guest. Carter-girl will forever remember the Beast. She could not stop talking about him that night, and she still brings it up. She says "I saw the Beast. I'm skeered." Well, Carter-girl, you were much braver than your big sister (who was hiding in the restroom).

We saw a few more princesses that night before leaving the park.  Again, we used the FP+ system to see the Enchanted Tales with Belle, and then we went to see our favorite New Orleans princess. The one thing we did not enjoy about this trip was that the fireworks were at 10pm every night. No way could my little ones make it for that, so we enjoyed the fireworks from our room every night. We had a wonderful first day at the Magic Kingdom, but of course we had to get our rest for Day 2!

Valentine's Day at Rosemary Beach

It was time for Snowpocalypse 2 to hit Atlanta just in time for Valentine's Day. This round was predicted to be much worse with tons of ice, 4-6 inches of snow, and no power.  We really had a lot of "togetherness" during the first snow break, so we decided to head South for round 2. We found the cutest little loft in Rosemary Beach and literally packed up the house in 45 minutes. Since it was Valentine's weekend, I loaded all the girls' Valentine's treats up so we could celebrate there.  This move was NOT a mistake. The sun was shining, the sand was warm, and the girl's loved it!

Carter-girl had not really been in the sand since last summer, and at that point she hated it. Thankfully, it appears that this summer will be much better. She was running around with her shoes off, and trying to keep up with Blair. The girls were so sweet together on the beach.

We had a wonderful Valentine's weekend playing, relaxing, and EATING down at the beach! Here is a picture of my Valentine's before our romantic dinner ;) 

Snowpocalypse 1

It has definitely been a wild and crazy winter here in Atlanta. We have had more snow and ice than we can handle.  The first wave came around the first week of February. I don't think anyone from Atlanta will ever forget that Tuesday afternoon.  One minute we were picking up kids from school and stopping for lunch and then the next minute  was like a scene out of  The Walking Dead. Cars were stranded all over the roads, and people were walking very long distances for food and shelter.  Blair and I were very lucky that day to be only about 8 miles from home. It did take us 3 hours to go 8 miles, but since we slept in our own bed that night, I will NOT complain!

Once everyone was home safe and sound, we could actually start enjoying the snow. The girls loved playing with all the kids in the neighborhood. We roasted s'mores and hot dogs, rode sleds, and drank tons of delicious sugary drinks ;) It's a good thing snow doesn't come around much here in the South because Mommy would need all new pants!
