Beach

We got in our last beach trip of the year with Nonna and Pappy. We go every October because it is such a beautiful time of the year to enjoy the beach. The weather is nice, the water is clear, and the crowds are slim. It was a little chilly when we showed up, but things warmed up towards the end of the trip. My girl wore her cat ears almost the entire time. She's in the Halloween spirit!

We stayed at the nicest place right on the beach. We had the best views morning, noon, and night. I sure could get used to this every afternoon while sipping my my mocktail ;)

We met the Joiners early one morning in Alys Beach and let the kids play at the park. Blair was smitten with all these cute boys around.

Blair really loved the beach this time and seemed to tolerate the sand better than ever. We have been 4 times since May, and Felix and I agree that we have come a long way since then. We spent most of our days soaking it all in!

Alys Beach hosted their annual Howl-oween Parade while we were in town. My cousin, Laura, wanted to enter her two dogs, Sophie and Maggie, in the parade. I was excited to go because I love a good function, and because Blair needs a little extra exposure to the four-legged friends. She nor I are pet lovers, BUT it's mainly caused my allergies and by no means a dislike for the furry little things. Obviously, the people down there take this thing pretty seriously.

After the parade, my cousin had us over to their place for a sunset dinner. She made the most wonderful crab cakes. I'm sure the wine would have sealed the deal, but I just had water :( They also had a wonderful view, and we enjoyed dining on their back deck.

The next day was football Saturday, and Erika invited us over to her place to eat and watch the slaughtering of our young and pitiful football team. So many people love Erika for various reasons, but let me tell you why I love Erika. Some days you may find her face smiling at you in a fancy magazine such as this ,or she may greet you at her home with a gameday drink in a Tervis Tumbler and give you a War Eagle. That's what makes her neat; rugged but right :) Our girls sure did have a good time playing, and I had a good time catching up!

We spent our last day soaking up the pretty scenery in Seaside and just relaxing. Blair worked on her "twirl" on the grassy lawn while Nonna enjoyed a tasty beverage. We also enjoyed one last beautiful sunset before it was time to go home.

Thank you Nonna and Pappy for a wonderful trip! Hope you guys got in a little rest and relaxation because next year is going to be pure CHAOS with a new little baby! LOL!

Pumpkin Patch

Good grief, we have been busy around here! October is always a busy month for us. Between birthdays, Halloween, and an annual beach trip, it barely leaves time for blogging! Guess that's why I haven't updated in over a month!

We did manage to squeeze in a Sunday afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch. Blair and I rode to Birmingham for a baby shower, so that was a good excuse for us to sneak over to Old Baker Farms. I used to go to this pumpkin patch many years ago, and it has really grown over the past few years. It just so worked out that many of our " hometown" friends were going that day as well, so I was excited to catch up with everyone!

Nonna and Pappy were kind enough to join us for the trip. There was no way I was doing it alone. Especially in the heat! Man, it was a scorcher that day. We can't really explain why Pappy chose to swear his black sweat suit!

My girl had a great time, but she was hot. We were all hot. She (and I) just really wanted to drink the lemonade. So, we found our perfect pumpkin probably faster than anyone else there, got our lemonade, and hit the road back home to Atlanta! Thanks Nonna and Pappy for going, I mean sweating, with us!
