Thanksgiving Festivities

We have been SO busy around here with the holidays creeping upon us. Between eating, shopping, eating, decorating, eating, and eating, it's amazing I can even find time to create a blog post! We kicked off the Thanksgiving festivities with a feast at Blair's school. We had a small intimate gathering with her class, and it was so much fun. I think the apple cider had something to do with the lack of cooperation for a class picture!

On Thanksgiving Day, Mimi and Pop came to Atlanta to spend the holiday with us. We decided to keep the kitchen clean this year and went to the Ritz Carlton for lunch. It was wonderful as always, and Blair loved every minute of it. I think she took as many trips to the buffet as her mama did;) I was so thankful that no one slung me up on the carving table. I somewhat resemble a turkey, and there is a chance that from here on out you will only find me behind the camera.

After Thanksgiving, we sent Mimi and Pop off to the Iron Bowl so we could get our Christmas decorating done. We got up bright and early Friday morning to go pick out the perfect tree.

But, just kidding! They weren't open yet. After walking around, measuring, and taking pictures, we finally realized there was no one there to help us :) So, we gave it another shot on Saturday morning. Blair thought the whole ordeal was hilarious.

But this time we were in luck. Blair and her Daddy picked out the perfect tree, and it was delivered right after lunch in true Verdigets' fashion.

We let Blair help with the decorating this year. She was given her designated spot with her own little set of non-breakable ornaments. And poor thing, she is going to be just like her mama. She couldn't wait to pull out the vacuum to clean up all the pine needles when we were done.

I was excited to add some new ornaments to my tree this year in Blair's honor. Here are a few of our favorites.

And last, this guy made an appearance at our house this week. Blair named him Chris. I guess that's kind of appropriate for the time of year. She's not buying it though and could care less. When I bring him up, she almost looks at me like I've lost my mind. But, we will keep trying. I don't think we will be able to keep the secret of Santa from this one very long ;) So, that's what we've been up to. And since Blair is on the 99th version of "Santa Claus is coming to town" in her bed, I guess I should run!

Big Girl Room

Blair has been in her big girl bed since Labor Day, but it has taken me this long to get her room put together. She started getting out of her crib the week prior to the change, so we couldn't wait for me to finish my decorating! She did so great with the switch and has loved her princess bed since day one. Here are a few pics I took this week since the room was clean for once ;)

She definitely thinks she is a big shot in her queen size bed. And she is also very selective about who gets to lay down with her for some snugging! Now that we have this room complete, it's time to move onto BABY SISTER'S room!!!

Lucky Little Libby

Libby Crowe has not even blessed us with her presence yet, but when she does it is going to be a big deal. This little girl already has won the hearts of all her friends and family. Not only does she have a strong set of aunts that already love her, but she also has one outstanding big sister that can't wait to get her hands on her! This past Saturday, all of these loved ones got together to celebrate Libby's upcoming arrival. In case you didn't know, we all love a good reason to have a party ;)

Some of my favorite people ever were in this room, and it was so much fun to catch up. We used to talk about who were the cutest fraternity boys on campus. Now, we talk about who makes the best swaddle blankets and nursing bras.

Baby Libby also has a "real" aunt and a set of grandmothers who were glowing as well. Gigi told me not to post any pictures of her, but I can't help it. She's too important to be left out!

And the amount of "awwwww's" that went around the room could have been heard from miles away. Everyone seemed to know just what Libby's mommy likes.

And let's not leave out the pregnant bellies. Good grief! It is obviously contagious, so I'd recommend doubling up on your birth control if you come to one of our functions!

It was a very fun and special day. The only thing missing was Aunt Blazer! Fortunately, she was recovering and taking care of her TWO babies that arrived on 11/11/11!! We missed her so much, but will let this one slide ;) Girls, I had a wonderful weekend with you all, and I am still recovering from our eat-fest!

Halloween

I'm definitely late on the Halloween post, but late is better than never! This year my little mouse jumped in feet first with all the Halloween celebrations. We kept asking her what she was going to say when we went to the other houses, and she would answer with "Can I have some candy, please?". I guess good manners are just as good as trick or treat, right?

We have so many wonderful kids in our neighborhood. It really makes holidays, such as Halloween, so much fun! We had pizza with a few of the kids and then set out to trick or treat. Blair was a little unsure of the costumes.

There was such a huge change since last year. Blair knew right what to do and didn't need any help from Mommy and Daddy!

We had a wonderful Halloween, and FINALLY got all of the candy out of the house. Don't worry, this pregnant woman ate her fair share ;) November is now here, and we are celebrating babies, attending weddings, and having turkey feasts! It's already the 15th, and I feel like November just began! Gobble Gobble!!
