My Valentine

Still running behind over here on blog posts. Hopefully, just one or two more before the baby arrives...

Blair was so excited to spend some time with her buddy Quinn during Valentine's week. Megan and I decided to take the girls to a pottery place so they could put their artistic skills to work. Quinn chose a garden gnome and Blair chose some bunny rabbits to decorate. We don't know where these choices came from, but we just rolled with it. No one seemed to think the ceramic hearts in honor of Valentine's was a cool choice.

The girls seemed to be in a picture-taking mood for some strange reason and were all smiles for the camera. I took advantage of the opportunity, and then we headed out for some yummy pizza. Blair loved being with Quinn and Kathryn, and the mommies sure enjoyed the time out of the house ;)

As for Valentine's Day, we just had a normal day at home. Blair got some treats before school that morning, and then she had a party with her class. We were pretty low key around here. Blair and Felix gave me a gift certificate for a massage, and I'm just trying to decide if I want it now or post-baby! Maybe if I use it now, I will earn another one after Carter arrives ;) LOL!

So, February will be a goner in 2 more days, and we will welcome March with open arms!! It's GO TIME!

Carter's Sprinkle

What would I do without my friends? I know everyone thinks they have great friends, but I promise you that no one has friends like mine. They travel near and far to make you feel special when they know you desperately need some girl time. They bring their newborns and all their gear to your home and set up shop just to make you feel good. They give you a pedicure when your toes start to resemble that of a cave man because you can no longer reach your feet. They tell you how great you look over and over when you know that your face looks like it may explode at any minute. This is just a handful of the things my friends have done for me lately. And to top it all off, this wasn't even the real reason they came to visit me! Two weekends ago, "my crew" rolled in to sprinkle baby Carter with some of her very own things! We all know that the 2nd child gets the shaft, and the 2nd child REALLY gets the shaft when it's the same sex. But not my baby girl. She's got so much of her own stuff already, I just know she is going to be loved just as much as her big sister is.

The day started with a wonderful lunch at the Coach Swan House. I have lived here 7 years and have never been, but it was worth the wait! The food was delicious!

My favorite people were all there to make Carter and I feel loved and special. All of these people are special to me in their own way. They know where they stand with me, and they know just when to email or call as if they can read my mind. When you don't have siblings, someones has to do the job, right?

And here is some of the precious stuff that sweet Carter got to have as her own.

So, thank you friends! Thank you for making me feel loved and special! And thank you for loving this little girl that isn't even here yet! We have 4 weeks left , and a lot to do, but Blair and I are making our to-do lists every morning and checking things off left and right! I just hope we make as good as a team after baby sister gets here as we do now ;)

Ballet

I am a couple of weeks behind on the blogging, so I have some catching up to do! Two weeks ago Blair had her parent observation day at ballet. We are only allowed to photograph and film their performances 3 days per year, so I was excited to get to take my camera. There are not a lot of words to go with this post, but I think the pictures tell the story pretty well. My girl LOVES her ballet class, and she is so passionate about it. I'm sure her interests will change from year to year, but right now this is her favorite thing. I asked her if she wanted to play soccer next year, and she said "I'm not a boy!". So, that pretty much sums up with what I'm dealing with over here!
