Carter 2 Months

I guess I better blog about Carter's 2 month stats before her 3rd month creeps up on me! At her 2 month appointment she weighed 10 lbs and 14 oz (50th), and she was 22 inches long (25th). Her head was 39 inches (75th). I feel like she is growing like a weed these days, and I'm sure she weighs well over 11 lbs by now! She is currently eating at 7 am, 10:30 am, 2 pm, 4:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. She is taking 3 naps a day, with some naps lasting longer than others ;) She is such a happy little baby, and has the sweetest personality already! We sit in the floor for hours each day cooing and sticking our tongues out at each other.  She loves to try to mimic everything I do. She doesn't complain too much during tummy time, and every now and then I will catch her on her back after being put down on her belly. We are loving our Miracle Blanket that Mommy pins together so I can't get out,  and we hope we can get at least another month out of it. Lord knows we love a good swaddle around here. We are gearing up for our 1st road trip with both girls in about 4 weeks, so that has me already planning on how much gear I need to take! HA!

Here are some recent pics of our big girl...

Mother's Day Weekend

Felix asked me what I wanted to do for Mother's Day this year, and I told him I was craving some "real" crawfish. We are fortunate enough to have some South Louisiana connections in our family, so Saturday morning I woke up to 40 lbs of crawfish on the back deck! My husband sure can do them up right, and Blair was just as antsy as ever to give them a try!

The Patnode's, along with Pop and Mimi, came to enjoy the party. Lord knows, it wouldn't be a party without the 4 of them! We even let little Carter out of her cave for a quick trip to the patio. The crawfish were just as yummy as ever, and it was nice to put my diet to side and indulge in beer and crawfish for the afternoon ;)

Steve and Angie were nice enough to invite us to their country club for Mother's Day brunch on Sunday morning. Despite the torrential downpours, it was a wonderful day with friends and family. Both of my children behaved during brunch and let me enjoy my champagne and omelet!

And last, but not least, we want to remember Maw Maw this Mother's Day. This picture was taken on Mother's Day weekend last year, and I am so glad I have this memory to cherish. This year Maw Maw was suffering through her final days here on this earth, and Nonna was right there by her side. I am so thankful that I took this picture so I can remember her healthy, plump, and worrying if our meal was too expensive that day ;) So, go hug your Maw Maw if you still have one, and take some pictures like I did; it is wonderful to have these great memories to look back on.

Ballet Recital

Blair has been busy wrapping up all her activities for the school year, and we were most excited about her end of year ballet recital. This child LOVES ballet! She is so passionate about it, and she really tries SO hard. She listens to every word the teacher says, and even practices at home. I know she is only 3, but I will be shocked if her love for ballet fades in the upcoming years. Baby Carter had her first baby sitter so I could pay attention to every single move. I wanted Blair to feel like all eyes were on her!

And of course we had to get some tulips for our girl to congratulate her on her great performance!

Blair has made some wonderful friends this year during ballet, and we look forward to many more years to come!

Lately

I feel like we have been buried lately with activities. Blair is about to wrap up the school year, so it has been one party after another.  My camera makes some of the trips, but not all of the time.

First, her class had a camping party. Everyone wore their pajamas and camped out in tents. Blair was very confused as to why we were going to a party in our pajamas. There were a million questions in the car on the way...

Next, Blair went to Tripp's firetruck birthday party. I loved how they had the complete fireman gear in girl colors. She wore the gear, but wouldn't come close to riding on the truck.

And last, but not least, the smallest monkey in our family turned 7 weeks old. Our little impromptu photo session was going just fine until big sister got a load of what was going on ;)

Stay tuned for more pics to come from Blair's ballet recital!
