Celebrating Warner

This weekend I had the pleasure of driving to Nashville to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Warner. We always love a good reason to have a girls weekend, and this was the perfect excuse! I was itching to get into town and spend some quality time with these two munchkins. Can you believe they are about to have a baby brother? I bet their mommy can't believe it either ;)

It took this sweet face a while to warm up to us strangers. He was a little unsure of what was going on, BUT he is definitely VERY comfortable in his mommy's arms :-)

Little miss priss here is a HAM! She gets her looks from her mommy, but acts like her daddy ;) She loves her dog "Beau" and loves to call him from her swing.

Saturday morning we went to a yummy brunch at Germantown Cafe to celebrate baby Warner. Some of Blazer's closest friends came to celebrate baby Warner and shower him with some of his very own things.  It was the perfect setting, and the food was delicious!

Our weekends in Nashville aren't anything like they used to be. These days they consist of cough syrup, antacids, vick's vapor rub, advil, and anything else you can imagine. Can you say geriatric?! Looking forward to the next trip, and maybe we will all return to Printers Alley very soon! LOL!

Valentine's Festivities

Don't you just love Valentine's Day? Everyone is usually always so happy, and it's the perfect excuse to indulge in Reese's Hearts, Gigi's Cupcakes, and all other things delicious in my book.  Blair had a cute little party in her class the day before Valentine's. I am the photo mom, so I loved being there. She has the sweetest little class, and the kids were so grateful for their wonderful party!

We had a big day planned at Legoland on Valentine's Day. We got up bright and early to check out our treats before heading to the mall (and yes, Blair has on Christmas pajamas).

Blair loves her friend, Caroline, and it was so fun to spend the morning with her at Legoland. Let me tell you, these little girls are FULL OF DRAMA! HA!  It was a great place to burn off all the sweets we had been eating, and our little Carter-girl enjoyed being along for the ride.

We had a great Valentine's, BUT we are SO ready for spring around here!!  Our skin is itching for some vitamin D!!!

Carter - 11 months

I can't believe our Carter-girl is now 11 months old! Where has the time gone?!?!? Things have been all about Blair lately on this blog, so I just felt like I needed to do a quick post about our precious little baby.

Carter is growing up so fast these days. She is one happy and spunky little girl. She is SO different than her sister was at this age, and Lord does it keep me on the go! She loves to crawl on the fireplace, try to crawl up the stairs, try to pull the lamp off the table, and even get into the wine cabinet. Blair never even knew any of that existed ;) And you can't even make bath time up. Both girls get in at the same time, and the entire time Carter tries to crawl out of the tub, dunks her head under the running faucet, and splashes Blair with water until the point that Blair is in tears. It's quite a sight!  With all that being said, we just love her to death. She is a VERY good eater, and we are still working on our sippy cup transition.   She is still a very good sleeper at night, and right now we are in a good nap routine. I am sure that will change shortly as she begins to grow out of her morning nap.  Carter loves for me to sing the itsy bitsy spider, and she LOVES any books by Karen Katz. If she sees one, she will go straight to it. I guess she is picky about her authors ;) She is getting better about her words and right now she can say Mama, Dada, uh-oh, stinky, yay, and touchdown. I may have heard shoes the other day, but I can't be certain.  She is pulling up really good and cruising the furniture. She has even learned to push and walk with some of her push toys. No steps or standing alone just yet, but I'm not pushing it!

I took a few pictures of her this weekend since it was just the two of us.  I'm sure the neighbors were looking out their windows watching me make a complete fool of myself. After she ate grass, tried to choke on a rock, and pulled her bow out a million times, I finally got a FEW shots. Again, NOT like her sister. HA!  We just love this wild child to death, and we are constantly eating our wheaties!

Disney - Day 4

We began our 4th and final day at Epcot. We had an 8 am breakfast reservation at Akershus in Norway, so we were up and it pretty early.  We were way more rested than our last visit to Epcot, so we took the opportunity to take some pictures.

When I made all of our dining reservations 6 months ago, this was a must for us because Belle is Blair's favorite princess.  Belle is waiting at the door for you (in her yellow dress of course) to have her picture made with you when you walk in.  She was just as beautiful as we thought she would be, and Blair was star-struck.  They give you an 8x10 of the picture before you leave, and you better believe it is sitting on Blair's dresser at home ;)

This meal is also filled with princesses. Each princess came by our table to greet us as we ate our breakfast. Snow White even left Blair a little surprise on her forehead ;)

Blair had been asking over and over again to see Daisy Duck. We tried to see her at the MK, but we had to hop out of line in order to get to our BBB reservation. Luckily, Daisy was located at the entrance of Epcot after our breakfast was over. Since we were always up with the chickens, we had no line at all this time! She was such a cute little duck!

We left Epcot after visiting with Daisy, and went back to the Magic Kingdom. This was our last day, and we still had some things to cross off our to-do list over there. This is one of the main reasons I recommend the parkhopper pass. No matter what our plan would be for the day, we would always end up at the Magic Kingdom by the time the day was over ;)  Blair wanted to see Mickey's Philharmagic Show, and she also wanted to do a little shopping. She had been saving up her birthday money all week so she could pick the perfect thing ;)  After the show was over, we grabbed some lunch at Cosmic Ray's (this is the only thing that I will tell you to not do-disgusting), and headed for the shops. Blair fell in love with Minnie Mouse this trip, so I knew she was headed straight for the Minnie Dress ;)

At this point in the day, we were getting tired and hot. I asked Blair one last time if there was anything else she wanted to do, and her answer was SWIM! HA! Felix and I were secretly relieved ;)  We said our goodbyes one last time to the castle and then headed back to the resort.

The pool was so nice and relaxing. We swam and played for a little while and then indulged in some ice cream treats. I had never felt so deserving as I did at that moment for those calories. Disney is a wonderful vacation, but is by no means relaxing! LOL!

Felix had one last request while we were at Disney. He had been craving a well-made hamburger. Not a frozen patty park burger. Our travel agent recommended we try Beaches n Cream at the Beach Club Resort. It is a 50's style diner with burgers and shakes.  It was delicious and the perfect note to end our trip. We had thought about getting in one last round of fireworks, but our Minnie Mouse was fast asleep in her car seat on the way back to the hotel.  We knew at that moment, we should end the trip on a good note ;)

We had a GREAT time, and I can't go on about much Blair enjoyed it.  She was the perfect age in my opinion, and was able to just go with the flow. Her main interests for this trip were seeing the princesses and characters and getting her autograph booked signed. She wasn't that interested in the rides this trip, but I look for her to be more into that next time. She was still a little scared this trip ;) Wonderful memories were made, and we definitely left wanting more!

M-I-C, See you real soon
K-E-Y, Why? Because we like you

Disney - Day 3

This was by far our busiest day at Disney. We left our hotel bright and early Saturday morning, and didn't get back until late that night.  We started the day off with some Mickey waffles at our hotel, then we headed straight to the Animal Kingdom.  We got there right when it opened, so we were able to walk around and check out some of the animals. Once Camp Minnie-Mickey opened, we went straight for the characters. We were able to check out Minnie and Mickey in their safari gear, and we even saw Pocahontas!!!

The timing was perfect for us to make the 10:30 showing of "The Festival of the Lion King". This was another one of my favorites at Disney. I thought the singing and dancing were wonderful!   After the show we grabbed a quick lunch at Restaurantosaurus and then headed back to the Magic Kingdom.

Blair immediately slipped into her princess dress when we got there, so she could be ready for her super-fun afternoon.  We made a quick stop to visit Jessie before heading to the Bippidi Boppidi Boutique.

The BBB was definitely one of Blair's highlights of Disney World.  It is definitely an experience she will always remember, and she is already talking about which princess she wants to be next time ;) There would be no other than the great Belle for her first trip! I love these pictures because you can see the excitement all over her face.

I also love this picture of Felix as he watches his money go up in hairspray flames ;)

Blair was so obsessed with the fact that she got to wear make-up and get her nails painted. She keeps asking what I did with her "lip-glock".  I think I may have left it in the comfort of our hotel room along with the glitter, hairspray, and goo remains ;)

After all of this excitement, it was time to go take a load off and get a little sweet treat. We made it just in time to get our snack, and get a good spot for Dream Along with Mickey.  This was another one of my favorites. When I think of Disney World as a kid, I think of the shows in front of the castle. There is no other place to see something as cool as that!

Just as the show ended, it was time for the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party! We basically just had to turn around with our backs to the castle and we could see the floats rolling in.  Some of the more popular characters came riding in on floats with music blasting. This was really cute because when the parade stops the kids get to go into the street and have a dance party. We were SO close to the characters!

At this point, it was time for another highlight of our vacation. I had purposely planned to have dinner in Cinderella's Castle on the same day as the BBB, so Blair could be all dressed up when we ate there. I had heard that this was a "must-do", and it did not disappoint. This was actually one of Felix's favorite things that we did. The castle was so beautiful on the inside, and SO MANY princesses were there!  Cinderella greeted us at the front door, and then we were taken to our seat. The food is delicious here, but the only thing they are missing is WINE!! It is much needed by this point in the day ;)

Once we had been seen by all the princesses we scurried out the door so we could make the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. At first, we thought we were going to be trapped in the castle for the fireworks because they weren't letting anyone leave because the show was about to start.  Finally, a cast member came to our rescue and escorted us to the VERY FIRST ROW in front of the castle to see the show. Between the flight of Tinker Bell and the fireworks, it was just one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I don't see how it could get old to anyone. That's exactly what I took one thousand pictures ;)

The only thing I can think of that made this day even more special was the fact that it was Felix's birthday!  He was so lucky to get to dine with all this royalty on his special day ;) Not only was it is birthday, but this was also his first trip to Disney as well. I am so glad that he got to share this with his princess at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Stay tuned for our 4th and final day!
