Disney Day 3 and 4

We got up super early the next day so we could make another breakfast. Felix could not make this one, so he dropped us off at the front gates of Hollywood Studios. We had an 8 am breakfast at Hollywood Vine, and I was so excited because this was new territory for us. I can't say enough great things about this character meal. It is a much smaller deal than Chef Mickey, and the characters are so personable. They came to our table multiple times, and came and got Blair to sing and dance with them for almost every song. The breakfast food just can't be beat at the buffets, so we stuffed our face as usual. Blair loved meeting Jake, Handy Manny, Oso, and June. We will definitely do this breakfast again in hopes that Sophia will be added to the guest list ;)

After breakfast was over, it was time for the park to open. We headed straight for the Disney Jr. Show since we missed that in January. It is ADORABLE! We also went to The Little Mermaid Show, and Beauty and the Beast. We caught a few characters along the way as well for Blair's autograph book. We ate lunch at the 50's Prime Time Cafe and then headed back for rest time. Felix was able to come back to the park with us that evening for our reservation at the Hollywood Brown Derby.

Our final half day at Disney was very relaxing. Felix had some morning meetings, so the girls and I went swimming until it was time to leave. Blair chose the Ariel pool for her last swim. This pool is so cute, and the statues are HUGE. There are not as many activities at this pool, so it was not very crowded. We soaked up the Florida sunshine before headed back to the hazy and polluted Atlanta skyline ;)

We had a wonderful spur-of-the-moment Disney Vacation! I will say that I'm glad I broke all of my "Disney rules", and I would do it again tomorrow if I were given the opportunity. Luck was definitely on our side with the heat and the crowds. We were able to stay at a great place, and eat at some great character meals with very short notice. Blair loved going back, and Carter had a ball! She was such a trooper, so I think she may get the invite on our next trip ;) The Disney Magic was definitely working for us until our ride home. No vacation would be complete without a trip to the urgent care. Luckily the vacation was over when the little one decided to get sick. I sanitized the entire park, but I guess I must have overlooked something! Poor Baby!

Disney Day 2

This was our most happening day at Disney. We. Did. Not. Stop. And just to brag a little bit... I did most of it without the husband! (picture me taking a bow). We started the day off with a 7 am reservation at Chef Mickey's. Felix was able to join us for breakfast, so it was nice to have the extra set of hands. This was Carter's 1st character experience and she did great. She was not upset nor did she get overly excited at this point. She just kind of stared and pointed. Big sister decided as we sat down at the table that she doesn't like characters that are dressed as dogs. This was a new one she threw at me, so we had to stay clear of Goofy and Pluto. I love everything about this breakfast, and it's a must-do for every trip to Disney!

After breakfast, the girls and I took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We got there just in time for rope drop. We watched the little show in front of the gates, and then headed straight to ride Winnie the Pooh. We rode Winnie, Ariel's Grotto, and It's a Small World. Carter loved every second of it and was on her best behavior. Blair's favorite thing to do is fill up her autograph book, so we made stops along the way for the Fairy Godmother, Peter Pan, and Wendy. Before I knew it, the morning had passed and it was time for lunch! We caught a show in front of the castle, made the street party, and then headed back to the resort for an afternoon rest.

During Carter's nap time, I took Blair to the main pool at the Art of Animation. They have 3 pools at this resort, and all of them are very cute. The Big Blue Pool has a snack bar, a spash pad area, and a lot of fun games. Blair and I treated ourself to a refreshment before swimming. We just can't get enough Mickey treats when we go to Disney. Blair's swimming has improved so much since our trip in January. This time she was much more into the games and races that were put on by the cast members. It was nice to sit back and relax and watch her have a great time!

We went back to the Magic Kingdom that night for our dinner reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table. I snagged this reservation 24 hours before our departure from Atlanta. Don't ask me how, but we got a 5:45 reservation , and had a wonderful table. I told Felix that the "Disney Magic" was working in our favor ;) Carter was a riot during this meal. Every time they would introduce a princess she would raise her hands in the air and start clapping. She was having a blast! We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed a few more hours at the MK before heading back to the resort. We had another early breakfast to make, so we had to get our beauty sleep!

Disney Day 1

I have to admit that I have broken all the rules. I think that sometime around deciding to have children and actually having children parents set all these rules for themselves. I will never this... , and I will never that... Sometimes we follow through with them, but most times we don't. I remember saying at some point in January that I would never take a baby to Disney.  I also said that I would never to go Disney in the summer. I probably also thought in the back of my mind that I would never take both kids by myself. Well, I broke EVERY SINGLE ONE of those rules.  It was too good to pass up. Felix had an impromptu work conference come up in Orlando for the end of June. Between the mileage reimbursement, free lodging, and discounted park tickets, we could NOT pass it up! I set my expectations very low, packed our suitcases, and jumped right in! I did not tell Blair we were going until the morning of our departure. She was very surprised to wake up and find all the necessary gear waiting on her at the breakfast table.  It was just another day for Carter. Just happy to be along for the ride ;)

Most of Day 1 was spent in the car, but we arrived in time to head over to Downtown Disney and to walk around and enjoy our resort. We stayed at the Art of Animation Resort and it did not disappoint! It is definitely far out, BUT they have done a lot of fun things with this place to make up for its location. The pools, the rooms, the grounds, and even the gift shop are awesome! We stayed in a Lion King Suite, and we LOVED it.  We had so much room, and loved the location of that building.  After checking in and getting settled, we drove to Downtown Disney for dinner at Wolfgang Puck's. We also had to get the girls an autograph book because that is a must for every Disney trip!

After picking up our 1st Mickey sweet treat of the week, we headed back to our room for an early bedtime.  The 7:00 am reservation at Chef Mickey's was coming soon enough, and I wanted everyone to be well rested!
