Carter 4 Months

Where have the last 4 months gone?? I guess between giving bottles, changing diapers, and keeping a 3 year old entertained, time has just disappeared right before my eyes. I can't believe that we have brought out the exersaucer and other big girl toys! Before we know it, we will be putting our baby gates back up. I'm sure not ready for that!

Our sweet Carter has been such a joy to our lives. She is such a laid back and happy little baby. She lights up when you walk in the room, especially when she sees her mama, and I wouldn't have it any other way. At her 4 month old appointment, she weighed 14 lbs and 5 oz (50th) and she was 24.75 inches long (50th). Her head measured 41.7 cm (75th).  She is currently drinking 8.5 oz bottles at 7, 11, 3, and 7. And yes, I said 8.5 oz. I have never had to give a child more than 8 oz of milk before, but this is one hungry girl! I believe she is definitely ready to start some oatmeal, so we are going to give it a whirl in the next week or so. I have loved my freedom of just having to carry around bottles, but I think its time to bring the bowls and spoons out!  Carter has turned into such a great sleeper. I was so worried those first few weeks because we had several scream it out sessions, but in the long run it was worth it. She sleeps from 7-7 every night. She takes a nap at 9 in the morning, at 1 in the afternoon, and then a catnap around 5 pm. It is usually not very fun at our house between 6 and 7 pm, but things seem to calm down when I turn the bath water on. Carter loves to sit in her bouncy and listen to Blair get her bath, and she really gets pumped up when I put her in her pink tub! Both of my girls have loved their baby tub!

We love our little Carter-girl so much, and we can't wait to watch her grow! I am so lucky to have such healthy and happy little girls!

Fireworks!!

This year we spent the 4th of July at the local country club. Our sweet neighbors invited us to tag along with them, so we accepted the offer! We spent all day swimming and playing pool games, and then went back later that night for dinner and fireworks. I didn't take my camera during the day because I had too much pool gear, but I was able to get some good pictures that night while we were waiting on the show to begin. Both of my girls were geared up for the big event. 

After getting all sugared up, we found a nice spot on the green to park our chairs and let the kids run around. Cooper and Clayton are so sweet to my Blair.  She feels SO big when she gets to play with them.

I got a little antsy that we had to to wait so late for the fireworks to start being that both of my kids normally go to bed before it gets dark, but it worked out fine. The firework show was spectacular and it was definitely worth throwing our schedule for a loop ;) Thanks to the Patnode's for a wonderful time celebrating our independence!

Beach Trip

This year we did a big beach trip with Felix's family at Seacrest Beach. Paw Paw wanted to take his 5 beautiful grandkids to the beach all at one time, so we took him up on the offer! We were a little worried if Tropical Storm Deby would ruin our trip, but thankfully Mother Nature knew that I had not had a vacation in 6 months, and the storm took a different route! The little ones were all itching to get their beach on! 

My little Blair wants to be JUST LIKE HARPER. It's Harper this and Harper that all day long. I was prepared that she would want to match her every single day, so I tried to make that happen. They were super excited to wear their matching suits. 

And Harrison is such a big boy now. He will always be our baby because he was the first born of the family. He is the SWEETEST child you have ever met, and he has so much patience with the girls and their drama. A few times he didn't want to carry the princess buckets to the beach, so Aunt TT helped him out and swapped bags with him ;) 

This is baby Hayes. Bless his little heart. He had an ear infection the entire trip and didn't feel good at all. He was such a trooper though. Just like all the Verdigets' babies, when he gets his tubes in, he will be ready to go! I think this was his only beach appearance. 

And little Miss Harper is a mess. We think she is the culprit of Blair's new trick of eye-rolling, LOL! I wish her parents would send her to Atlanta for about a week. I swear I didn't hear one peep out of Blair when she was around. Just put food on the table and that's all they need!

My Blair is becoming such a big girl. I could not believe how much she had changed since our last trip to the beach.  She has reached that age where she just plays on the beach for hours. She can run back and forth to the water on her own, play in the sand, and get her own snacks out of my bag.  I wish I could hit the pause button for a little while :-(

Last, but not least, this little munchkin did much of nothing. She hung out in people's arms, in her car seat, or wherever. She was just happy to be along for the ride. She did so good on her first trip away from home. I was one proud mommy.

Gina knows just what the girls like and brought them matching Hello Kitty bathing suits to wear. This caused several photo opps and before we knew it everyone was saying "Hello Kitttttyyyyy" when I pulled the camera out!

After dining at Bud and Alley's one evening we attempted the dreaded family photo session on the beach. It could have been worse. With a ton of ice cream bribery, we got the job done.

The cousins had to leave early to go home so Uncle Jason could party every night after their departure, so Blair was left alone with just her princesses.  

Thank goodness that  Uncle Billy showed up just in time for some entertainment!

It was such a wonderful trip. Not only was the beach perfect, but Blair and Carter got to be with their cousins and spend quality time with them.  Felix and I were even able to get away for some dinner dates with the help of Paw Paw and Gina. I had been on lock down since Carter was born, and there is nothing like having the fresh air of the salt water hit your face! We are already gearing up for our next trip in August!
