My Munchkin

Blair turned 18 months on Friday, and I walked around sweeping my heart off the floor all day. When the day's work was over, I got her all cleaned up for a night on the town. We went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant, and I decided Blair could have a little treat for her burfday.

Felix says I was overreacting, but it doesn't bother me. I birthed this child, so I have the right to overreact :) We enjoyed our dessert and then hung around for a few pictures. I just love these chunky spunky legs.

I also love me some silly faces. We have a lot of those these days :-)

We are having such a good time with Blair these days watching her grow up. We went today for her check-up, and everything looked great. She weighs 24lbs and 11 oz (50th percentile) and she is 31 inches tall (25th percentile). She is right on track to be my exact heighth! Only 30 more inches to go! We do have a slight issue with Blair walking her toes too much, so Dr. Pip wants us to work on that before coming back to our next appointment.

Blair is talking up a storm and is learning so much every single day. Some of my favorite things she says are "no more monkas jumping on the bed" and "now I know my abc's next time won't you sing with me". These two things pretty much cause my heart to burst. I'd sing whatever she wanted me to at that point! She also says "we're home!!!" everyday when we pull into the driveway and that makes my heart smile too. And Felix REALLY loves it when he walks into the room and Blair says "hey pumpkin!". That makes his heart smile :) On a negative note, Blair did learn that my name was "Tara" a few weeks ago as well as "Mommy." She thought it would be cute to call me "Tara." After a week or so of ignoring it, I think we have kicked the habit. It sure was cute, but I couldn't let her know that :) It is so fun to look back and read these blog posts at each milestone, so I'm sorry if it boring to you. It just happens to make my day every now and then!

We are loving every minute of our Blair-bear, and can't wait for many more memories to come!

The heat is on

Is anyone else as hot as we are? It's hot as blazes here in Georgia, that's for sure. We are having a hard time finding outdoor entertainment that we (I) can stand. Every now and then we luck up with a pool invitation, but when all else fails, the water hose gives us a good 30 minutes of something to do. Blair thinks it's hysterical, so I let her have at it!

Other than that, we've had a few grandparents visit here and there. They pretty much let Blair do whatever she wants to do. But, as long as Daddy and I get a good meal out of them, then we just let it slide. They love Blair and Blair loves them, so that is all that matters.

Felix and I treated ourselves with a little trip to Paradise (Rosemary Beach) for the 4th. Blair's Nonna (the one who runs from the camera) came to keep her for the weekend. I decided to take a break from all things, including my camera, and enjoy our little 3 night get-away. Here are a few lowsy iphone shots of the beautiful scenery.

As you can tell, there was no oil in sight! If your debating on whether it's worth it to make the trip down, STOP debating. You should go. Matter of fact, you should RUN! Run with all your might and get down there and soak up this beautifulness. Don't know how long it will look this way, but those people down there need you. And I need them, so that is why we went! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and try to stay cool!
