This weekend was all about celebrating. All of my celebrating over the weekend has made for a very tiring and dull week. But, it was well worth it! I jetted off to Miami Friday after work. It was going to be the weekend of a lifetime in South Florida, and I couldn't miss it! Friday night was "the night before" Stacey's 30th birthday. This meant it was her last day to be in her twenties, so of course we had to celebrate that! After some gourmet pizzas and fabulous red wine, Stacey got to open her birthday gift from Aaron. Holy smokes!!!
Saturday, of course, had to be a day of celebrating as well. Saturday was the day that Stacey turned 30. We started the day off celebrating by the pool located at the spa.
Then we took it inside for a nice lunch by the beach. Complete with cake.
Next, it was back to the spa for our massages. H.E.A.V.E.N.
After a nice relaxing day at the spa, Stacey's out of town guests wanted to surprise her with a nice birthday dinner. We realized she was the expert at South Beach, but we somehow knew just the place to take her.
Yep, you read it correctly. And for those of you not familiar, this restaurant is located INSIDE the Versace Mansion. We dined in the very room where Gianni Versace used to sit daily and read his paper while overlooking Ocean Drive. Words can not describe this place. Let me just say that our waiter asked if he could "orchestrate our dining experience for the evening." We were even a little overwhelmed by the wax sealed menu.
After dinner and getting one last shot in front of the gates of the mansion, it was on to Barton G for dessert and champagne. This would be our final celebration. Just for that day, though ;)
It was time to switch gears on Sunday. This day was all about a precious little boy that will be entering the world in a few months. Ethan Parker Schwartz will be taking this family over in August, and I just know he is going to be loved like no other. If he is loved half as much as his parents were on Sunday, he is going to be one lucky little fellow. Stacey's South Florida friends + one Southerner gave the baby shower of a lifetime on Sunday. I don't think blogspot gives me enough storage space to go over every little single detail, but I will show you a few of them.
Now, at this point you are probably thinking that the celebrations are over. Well, much to your surprise we had one more in us! We loaded up the troops after the shower and headed back to Stacey's for one last birthday, baby, and farewell celebration. Stacey's sweet parents catered food in for us and we laughed, trash-talked, and organized all of Stacey's loot. This was one of my favorite moments of the entire weekend. I was so sad to see it end.
It was a wonderful weekend and I am so sad that it is over. It is hard to believe that the next time I see Stacey, she will be a Mommy. I know they are going to make wonderful parents. If Ethan has his Mommy's looks and his Daddy's organizational skills, then he will be all set. Congratulations to this entire family, and I can't wait until my next trip to my vacation home in South Florida!
